Matthew Moore Hardy was born & raised in Cameron – a small town in rural North Carolina – to Gilbert & Ruby Hardy on September 23, 1974.
He is best known for his work in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) & more recently, Total Nonstop Action (TNA).

As young adults, Matt & his younger brother, Jeffrey Nero Hardy grew up as fans of professional wrestling, particularly NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) & WWE. With this influence in mind, Matt & Jeff founded a wrestling organization called the Organization of Modern Extreme Grappling Arts (OMEGA) before both signing with WWE. While there, the Hardy Boyz gained notoriety in WWE’s Tag Team division by innovating the modern day Ladder Match & pioneering the Tables, Ladders & Chairs matches. Together they held 7 World Tag Team Championships from 1999-2008. Matt also held the WWE Tag Team Championship with MVP in 2008.

Apart from his success as a tag team wrestler, Matt Hardy’s achievements as a WWE singles competitor include the ECW Championship, Hardcore, European, Cruiserweight & United States Championship, winning each on one occasion before leaving the company in 2010. In 2011 Matt signed with TNA & rejoined his brother professionally for a brief time. Matt has appeared in television commercials for Chef Boyardee & Zelda and on television programs including, not but limited to That 70s Show, Scare Tactics & Fear Factor, where he was named the Fear Factor Champion. Hardy is also a New York Times bestselling author for his book “The Hardy Boyz: Exist 2 Inspire”.

Throughout the years, Matt has worked closely & extensively with numerous charity organizations (Make-a-Wish Foundation, The American Cancer Society, The Humane Society, etc.) and continues to give back to the community by donating time & resources to local & national causes. No longer working a full-time wrestling schedule, Matt Hardy is currently focusing on these & other personal projects, including The Hardy Show, a reality show created, written & produced by Hardy.
